Nonprofit organizations that serve the most vulnerable people in a community only survive when someone is making sure the money works. A mission driven nonprofit in Bridgeport, Connecticut needs a Chief Financial Officer who understands the complexity of restricted funding, government contracts and Medicaid reimbursement well enough to protect the organization and grow it at the same time.
You will lead all financial operations including budgeting, reporting, audit oversight, grant compliance, revenue cycle management and capital planning while partnering with executive leadership and the Board to guide strategic decisions that keep the mission alive and funded.
What you need to bring:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
CPA or MBA strongly preferred
10 or more years of progressive finance leadership experience
Prior experience as a Chief Financial Officer or senior nonprofit finance leader
Strong expertise in nonprofit accounting, fund accounting and FASB standards
Extensive experience managing restricted and unrestricted funding sources
Experience overseeing complex grant funding and government contracts
Medicaid or Medicare reimbursement experience strongly preferred
Background in healthcare, human services or similar service based nonprofit sectors is a strong plus
Experience partnering with executive leadership and Boards of Directors
