    Job Description

    The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at MYCON is the organization's senior-most technology executive, holding enterprise-wide accountability for the strategic direction, governance, and performance of the company's entire technology function. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CIO reports directly to the President & CEO and partners closely with the Board of Directors on technology investment, risk, and digital strategy. This role provides executive oversight across IT Infrastructure & Service Delivery, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, Data Analytics, and Digital Transformation. The CIO translates enterprise business strategy into a cohesive, multi-year technology vision, owns the enterprise technology budget and vendor ecosystem, and ensures MYCON's systems, data, and digital capabilities scale to support a growing general construction enterprise. The ideal candidate brings deep technical breadth, exceptional business and financial acumen, and a proven record of building and leading high-performing technology organizations in complex, field-driven, capital-intensive environments.


    Technology Strategy & Executive Leadership


    • Sets and owns the enterprise-wide technology vision and multi-year strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with MYCON's overall business strategy and growth objectives.
    • Serves as a core member of the executive leadership team, advising the President & CEO and Board of Directors on technology strategy, investment priorities, and enterprise risk.
    • Represents technology in board meetings and executive committee discussions, translating complex technical topics into business and financial terms.

    Cybersecurity & Risk Governance

    • Owns MYCON's enterprise cybersecurity strategy and risk posture, ensuring alignment with recognized frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls).
    • Establishes governance structures for data privacy, business continuity, and disaster recovery across the organization.
    • Reports on cybersecurity risk, incidents, and readiness to the President & CEO and Board of Directors.

    Enterprise Applications & Data Analytics

    • Directs the enterprise applications portfolio, including construction management platforms and ERP systems, to ensure they scale with business growth.
    • Champions enterprise data strategy and analytics capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making across the business.

    IT Infrastructure & Service Delivery

    • Oversees enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and service delivery to ensure reliability, scalability, and strong end-user experience across corporate and field operations.

    Financial & Vendor Management

    • Owns the enterprise technology budget and capital planning process, ensuring disciplined cost management and measurable ROI on technology investments.
    • Directs vendor strategy and contract negotiations across the technology portfolio.

    Team Leadership & Talent Development

    • Builds, leads, and develops a high-performing technology organization, including senior technology directors and managers.
    • Cultivates a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence across the technology function.
    • Proven C-suite executive leadership skills with experience directing enterprise-wide technology organizations, influencing at the Board level, and driving cross-functional alignment.

    • Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, enterprise applications, data analytics, and emerging technologies.
    • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience owning enterprise technology budgets, managing vendor contracts, and delivering measurable ROI on technology investments.
    • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business and financial language for the Board, executive leadership, and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience in the construction, real estate, or related capital-intensive industry strongly preferred; deep familiarity with construction management platforms and ERP systems a plus.
    • Advanced critical thinking, strategic planning, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across a broad, enterprise-wide technology portfolio.

    Key Performance Indicators to be monitored and managed:

    • Enterprise technology budget adherence and cost optimization against plan
    • System uptime, availability, and IT service delivery performance against SLAs
    • Cybersecurity posture including incident frequency, mean time to resolution, and completion of security awareness training
    • Enterprise application adoption rates and end-user satisfaction
    • Data analytics output quality and utilization by business stakeholders
    • Vendor contract performance and renewal execution within budget
    • Technology team retention, development, and performance
    • Board and executive leadership confidence in technology strategy and risk reporting

    Other (Required skills and qualifications, not limited to the following):


    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

    • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with at least 8 years in a VP or CIO-level role with full P&L or enterprise budget ownership.
    • Proven track record of successful management of multiple direct report managers and cross-functional technology teams at the enterprise level.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and executing multi-year technology roadmaps aligned to business strategy, with direct accountability to a Board of Directors or equivalent governance body.
    • Broad technical fluency across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls), cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and data analytics tools.
    • Experience in the construction, engineering, real estate, or related capital project industry strongly preferred; familiarity with construction management platforms and ERP systems a plus.
    • Highly developed communication skills including listening, influence management, and Board- and executive-level presentation skills.
    • High energy, self-motivated, and results-driven with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
