MAKE AN IMPACT
The CIO is accountable for the technology strategy, infrastructure, information security posture, and digital enablement of the firm. This role owns every dimension of technology, not as a support function, but as a strategic enabler of growth, client service, and operational efficiency across all four divisions.
Lutz operates in an environment of exceptional data sensitivity: tax records, financial data, healthcare information, and HR data. The CIO enables bold technology adoption while ensuring the firm never compromises on security, compliance, or data integrity.
This role requires a business leader first and a technologist second. Someone who translates technology capability into measurable business outcomes and competitive advantage.
As the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will:
- Own the firm's multi-year technology roadmap aligned to growth targets, division needs, and competitive positioning
- Own infrastructure, application portfolio, and data architecture across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. Ensure reliability against defined SLAs
- Own cybersecurity posture end-to-end: threat detection, identity management, endpoint protection, incident response, and security training
- Evaluate emerging technologies that create measurable advantages in service delivery, efficiency, or client experience
- Drive technology adoption across the firm, including AI, automation, and cloud-based tools that improve delivery and quality
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable ROI; manage IT spend with the same discipline as any P&L owner
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring the firm meets all regulatory and client obligations related to data privacy
- Collaborates cross-functionally with executive leadership (COO, CFO, CHRO, and division leads) to align technology with business strategy-driving solution design, process automation, cost optimization, systems governance, and data-driven workforce insights
QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including senior leadership responsibility
- Experience in professional services, financial services, accounting or a similarly client-centric environment, preferred
- Proven ability to lead in a growth-oriented, mid-market environment where adaptability and execution are critical
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic business partner, translating technology into measurable business outcomes and communicating risks, trade-offs, and investments in clear, actionable terms for executive leadership.
- Proven track record of leading through business outcomes rather than technical specifications, with the ability to proactively drive adoption across the organization.
- Builds credibility through consistent, reliable execution while promoting a culture of security awareness and responsible AI use to ensure secure, high-impact technology delivery
