    Description

    Our Executive Leadership Team is growing! We are seeking an accomplished lending executive to help shape the future of our loan portfolio. This strategic leader will bring deep expertise in lending, portfolio growth, credit discipline, and relationship development—partnering across the organization to drive sustainable growth, strengthen member and business relationships, and support long-term organizational success.

    Compensation
    Starting pay is $200,000–$230,000 annually, commensurate with experience.


    What You’ll Do
    • Directs all credit union lending activities, including consumer, home equity, mortgage, and business loans; evaluates lending practices and policies.
    • Leads, coaches, and develops staff, ensuring employees have the training and resources needed to perform effectively.
    • Manages staffing and employee relations, including coaching, corrective action, recruiting, salary reviews, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary decisions.
    • Oversees credit investigations, delinquency collections, repossessions, bankruptcy proceedings, and related account reporting.
    • Attends regularly scheduled Sunmark Board of Directors meetings.
    • Develops lending procedures and internal policies; participates in ALCO, Executive Leadership Team, and Quality Control Committee meetings.
    • Communicates lending strategies and procedures to management and operational staff; implements loan services to support credit union objectives.
    • Provides lending guidance, financial counseling, and issue resolution to members while delivering exceptional service.
    • Reviews approved loans daily to ensure sound lending practices and policy-compliant disbursements.
    • Audits approved loans for compliance with Board lending guidelines, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversees month-end, year-end, loan, and collection reporting.
    • Participates in short- and long-term strategic planning and communicates supporting strategies to management and staff.
    • Prepares, implements, and manages Lending team budgets in alignment with credit union strategy.
    • Develops lending products, improves loan processes, and drives departmental profitability and growth.

    What We’re Looking For
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years progressive lending experience, including leadership experience in a credit union or financial institution.
    • Strong background in business, mortgage, and/or consumer lending, including underwriting, portfolio management, risk, compliance, and loan operations.
    • Solid knowledge of lending regulations, policies, documentation, and credit union best practices.
    • Strong communication, coaching, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
