The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships between hospital management and the medical staff, as well as recruiting new physicians.
In addition, the CMO interacts and collaborates on a daily basis with key members of the Administrative team. This position will be responsible for writing policies and leading efforts to improve patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree, completed residency training in a recognized specialty, board certification in the specialty of training.
Management degree is strongly preferred ( (MBA, MHA, MMM, MPH).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven leadership skills.
Must have knowledge of hospital structure, operations, and infrastructure of quality and utilization.
Requires expertise with medical staff processes, policies, and procedures.
Experience in the recruitment and mentoring of staff physicians.
