United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the country’s largest Ambulatory Surgery Center platform, is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital - Arlington in Arlington, TX.

 

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital - Arlington is in Arlington, TX. The facility is accredited by The Joint Commission. Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital - Arlington is a facility in which physicians have an ownership or investment interest. This was a de novo facility that has been serving the community since 2010. The hospital has 20 inpatient beds, 18 observation beds, and a 2 bed ED that sees 80 patients per month. There are 10 OR’s and 2 PR’s where 1,200 to 1,500 surgical cases are done per month. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of Orthopedics, Spine and Pain Management. 280 FTE’s work at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital - Arlington with a medical staff of 170 physicians. Patient experience scores are consistently in the 95th to 96th percentile.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will either have Surgical Hospital or other Hospital Leadership experience.

Job Summary

 

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides executive leadership for all nursing and clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. This role is responsible for clinical excellence, staffing strategy, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement across the organization. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CNO partners with physicians, administrators, and the governing board to advance the hospital’s mission, strategic goals, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and clinical departments

  • Partner with physicians, executive leadership, and the governing board on strategy and operations

  • Oversee talent development, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Integrate current research and best practices into nursing care delivery
  • Represent nursing services in medical staff, executive, and board meetings

Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration (required)

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Proven leadership over multiple, complex nursing or clinical departments
  • Surgical background/leadership experience required
  • CNO experience and surgical hospital experience preferred

 

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN license in the state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
