    Description

    Position Summary:The Chief Nursing Officer is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing and directing all nursing operations and clinical services within the hospital. The role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency across multiple departments, including Dietary, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Department (ED), Surgery Center, Hospital Units, and Quality Management. Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing and clinical operations, ensuring excellence in patient care.
    • Collaborate with department heads to enhance efficiency, safety and quality outcomes across EMS, ED, surgical services and inpatient units.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
    • Develop and implement policies to optimize patient experience, staff performance and operational effectiveness.
    • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
    • Oversee staffing, budgeting and professional development programs to support nursing and allied health teams.
    Requirements:
    • Education: Prefer BNS or Masters in Nursing
    • Experience: Prefer experience in ED setting and/or surgical setting. Requires minimum of 5 years in acute care setting with 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
    • License: Meets requirements per ND Century Code 43-12.1
