Job Description:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Ballinger Memorial Hospital, a designated Critical Access Hospital (CAH). The COO provides strategic leadership, ensures compliance with CAH regulatory requirements, optimizes rural health delivery systems, and collaborates closely with the CEO/Administrator and executive team members to support high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day operational management of the hospital
• Provide strategic leadership for hospital operations
• Ensure compliance with Critical Access Hospital (CAH) regulatory requirements
• Optimize rural health delivery systems
• Collaborate closely with the CEO/Administrator and executive team
Education:
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership in hospital operations
• At least 5 years of experience in a rural or Critical Access Hospital setting
• FACHE or similar professional certification strongly preferred

Ballinger Memorial Hospital was founded at its current location in Ballinger, Texas on January 1, 1963. The hospital has a service area of 635 squares miles and serves over 8500 citizens. The hospital became a taxing district on January 31, 1990. Ballinger Memorial Hospital District became a Critical Access Hospital with 25 beds in August of 2000. In 2005, the District attained the Ballinger Hospital Clinic and in March of 2012 the District continued its growth by acquiring Keel Drug Pharmacy. Ballinger Memorial Hospital District offers numerous outpatient services, acute and swing bed care, and is certified as a level IV trauma ER. Our outpatient services include physical therapy, wound care, clinic services, ambulance service, and a wellness center as well as outpatient lab services and radiology services.
