CAN/AM TECHNOLOGIES

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

THE PERSON

Do you believe the greatest measure of an operator isn't how much they accomplish personally, but how effectively they build an organization that continues to thrive long after they've left the room? Are you excited by the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of a high-growth technology company by expanding the operational foundation that allows it to scale with confidence? If you're an authentic leader who finds purpose in building the people, systems, and accountability that allow a business to grow, we want to talk to you!

Our ideal Chief Operating Officer is:

  • Authentic & Values-Driven: Trust is earned through your integrity, humility, and consistency. Your actions consistently match your words.
  • Operationally Disciplined: You naturally create clarity, establish priorities, and keep important initiatives moving forward. Strong operating rhythms and consistent follow-through are simply how you work.
  • Thoughtfully Curious & Humble: You don't arrive with a "my way or the highway" mindset. You ask great questions, seek to understand the business first, and earn the credibility to lead change.
  • Decisive & Sound Judgment: You're comfortable making difficult decisions with confidence, even when every answer isn't perfectly clear. You listen well, consider different perspectives, and move the organization forward with clarity and conviction.
  • Collaborative Relationship Builder: You believe the best solutions are built through partnership, not authority. By developing leaders, fostering healthy debate, and creating shared ownership, you help people and the organization reach their full potential.

Our ideal Chief Operating Officer is energized by helping organizations thrive well beyond any one individual. You'll partner closely with the CEO to strengthen the structure, leadership, and accountability needed for Can/Am's next stage of growth while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit that makes the company special. You'll help shape a company where people at every level understand the vision, take ownership, and confidently execute. If you're energized by helping great people accomplish even more together, this is the role for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the CEO to translate strategic vision into clear priorities and disciplined execution.
  • Build and continuously refine the operating systems that enable Can/Am to become a self-scaling organization.
  • Lead the company's operating rhythm, including Pinnacle meetings, strategic priorities (Rocks), KPIs, and organizational accountability.
  • Strengthen organizational structure, role clarity, and accountability to support Can/Am's continued growth.
  • Improve cross-functional communication, collaboration, and ownership across Sales, Client Success, Product, Finance, and HR.
  • Align the sales forecast, product roadmap, and hiring plan into one operating plan.
  • Lead strategic initiatives from planning through successful implementation.
  • Remove operational bottlenecks and continuously improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, KPI management, and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with Sales and marketing to tighten execution against long-cycle public-sector (B2G) procurement — proposal/RFP throughput, pipeline discipline, and forecast accuracy.
  • Coach, develop, and hold senior leaders accountable to determined goals and objectives through regular one-on-one meetings and ongoing feedback.
  • Lead Can/Am's adoption of AI as an operating advantage — identify where AI creates real leverage across Sales, Client Success, Product, and G&A, drive practical adoption, and keep the toolset current as the technology evolves.
  • Work with the team to ensure the right people are in the right roles to support long-term scalability.
  • Partner closely with the CEO by providing thoughtful counsel, constructive challenge, and practical solutions.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, healthy debate, and continuous improvement.

Success Milestones

  • 90 Days: Begin building trust across the leadership team while gaining a deep understanding of the business, culture, and opportunities for growth.
  • 6 Months: Establish yourself as a key strategic partner to the CEO while strengthening clarity, accountability, and cross-functional alignment.
  • 9 Months: Elevate leadership effectiveness, improve organizational performance, and position the company for continued growth.
  • 1 Year: Own the leadership, systems, and accountability that enable Can/Am to scale with confidence.

** This is a full-time, in-person position based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. **
