COO — CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

THE ROLE The COO owns the operational engine of — clinical workflows, technology systems, billing, insurance, and provider operations. This is a builder role in a startup environment. The ideal candidate has run the full back-office of a clinical or telehealth operation and thrives in complexity.

MUST-HAVE BACKGROUND

• Healthcare operations leadership — clinical workflows, provider management, staffing
• Medical billing and revenue cycle management
• Insurance credentialing and payer contracting
• Health technology / EMR systems oversight
• Multi-site, telehealth, or distributed clinic experience
• Ability to build and document operational systems from scratch

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with integrative, functional, or longevity medicine practices
• Familiarity with AI-powered clinical platforms or agentic health tools
• Federal health compliance experience (VA, DoD, CMS billing)
• SDVOSB or government contract operations background
• Veteran background — strong cultural fit

TITLE HISTORY TO TARGET COO, VP Operations, or Director of Operations at a telehealth company, multi-site clinic network, MSO, or health IT platform. Revenue cycle directors or practice administrators who have grown into broader operational leadership are also worth evaluating.
