Description of Work
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the North Carolina Medicaid program is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing the operational strategy, performance, and administration of one of the largest health programs in the state. The COO ensures that Medicaid operations are efficient, compliant, data‑driven, and aligned with departmental goals, federal and state regulations, and the needs of beneficiaries, providers, and partners. This role leads cross‑functional teams to drive operational excellence, system modernization, and continuous improvement across the program.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $150,000 - $185,000

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or other discipline related to the area of assignment and five years of related operations management and leadership experience, including three years of supervisory/management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
