Position Summary
Exact Benefits Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee daily business operations and drive organizational efficiency in its Westerville, Ohio office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scaling operational systems, optimizing performance across departments, and ensuring alignment between sales, service, compliance, and leadership teams.
This role is best suited for an executive with a strong background in insurance operations, team leadership, process improvement, and performance management within a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily business operations across sales, service, and administrative departments
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability
- Lead and manage department heads and senior managers
- Establish performance metrics and enforce accountability across teams
- Optimize workflows for Medicare enrollment, client servicing, and compliance processes
- Collaborate with executive leadership on company growth strategy and expansion plans
- Ensure regulatory compliance with CMS and insurance industry standards
- Monitor KPIs, reporting systems, and organizational performance data
- Support hiring, training, and organizational development initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement and operational scalability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of executive or senior leadership experience in insurance, healthcare, or financial services
- Strong background in operations management and organizational scaling
- Proven experience managing multi-department teams
- Deep understanding of Medicare and health insurance industry (preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with CRM and operational systems
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
