JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chief People Officer (CPO) is a "build-not-maintain" executive seat responsible for architecting multi-entity HR infrastructure from scratch. Reporting to executive leadership, the CPO will manage 4 entity-level HR staff, lead benefits consolidation, execute an HRIS migration, ensure strict HIPAA/state compliance, and scale people operations across new entity acquisitions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Build & Standardize HR Infrastructure: Design scalable recruiting, onboarding, and workforce tracking systems across all portfolio companies.
• Lead Team & Operations: Manage 4 entity-level HR specialists and serve as primary negotiator to consolidate group benefits plans.
• Systems Migration: Lead the evaluation, selection, and rollout of a unified enterprise HRIS/payroll platform.
• Regulatory & Legal Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, PHI handling, NY healthcare labor laws, SCR clearances, and fingerprinting protocols.
• Culture & EOS Alignment: Drive "Right Person, Right Seat" governance, high accountability, and inclusive cultural flexibility across a diverse workforce.

REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of progressive HR leadership (CPO, CHRO, VP, or HR Director level).
• Direct HR leadership in healthcare, behavioral health, or regulated social services.
• Proven track record scaling an organization through rapid growth (e.g., 100 to 500+ headcount) across multi-entity environments.
• Deep knowledge of HIPAA, PHI standards, and state healthcare compliance.
• 100% On-Site in Brooklyn, NY (with ~1x/week local travel to regional sites).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience implementing/migrating enterprise HRIS & payroll platforms.
• Familiarity with NY State compliance (OMH regulations, SCR clearances).
• Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System).

COMPENSATION & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Base Salary: $190,000 – $230,000
• Target OTE: ~$240,000 (Base + Performance/Milestone Bonus)
• Schedule: Full-time on-site in Brooklyn, NY; standard executive hours with ~1x/week local site travel.
