Chief Physician Assistant (PA), Medical Oncology

Our client, a leading cancer treatment and research center renowned for its comprehensive, innovative care and groundbreaking clinical trials, is hiring a Chief Physician Assistant (PA), Medical Oncology. This critical leadership role involves overseeing advanced medical oncology practices within a prestigious health institution specializing in hematology, solid tumors, and cellular therapies. The Chief Physician Assistant will lead a team of Physician Assistants across multiple inpatient units, manage complex case loads, and ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage 23-24 Physician Assistants (PAs), including night and day shift coverage, ensuring seamless clinical operations.
• Oversee coverage for two primary locations: NW 2 (myeloma, lymphoma, brain tumors, CAR-T therapy) and NW 8 (solid tumors, malignant hematology).
• Provide expert clinical oversight for patients with complex needs, including those undergoing chemotherapy, cellular therapies, and clinical research trials.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a resource for clinical decision-making, issue resolution, and mentoring.
• Maintain accessibility during off-hours to address emergent issues or patient needs as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in medical oncology, with significant knowledge of hematologic and solid tumor management.
• Prior experience managing very sick, opinionated patients with complex treatment regimens, including cellular therapies and bone marrow transplant (BMT) knowledge highly preferred.
• Proven leadership skills and experience supervising or managing clinical teams.
• Strong understanding of Epic EMR system.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be accessible on off-hours to support clinical needs.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with CAR-T therapy, BMT, and working in high-acuity inpatient settings.
• Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling, including night shifts, and willingness to be assigned to different units based on hospital needs.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant is required.
