SUMMARY:

The Chief Program Officer (CPO) position requires the ability to work in a strong Christian environment and demonstration of Christian commitment, attitude, and standard of conduct in all job duties and responsibilities.

The Chief Program Officer serves as a senior executive leader providing strategic oversight to Ministry and Program departments of Los Angeles Mission (LAM). This role involves overseeing a growing team of over 20 employees and is responsible for the development and cultivation of program leadership and staff. The CPO manages all governmental contracts, maintains relationships with key leaders and supporters, and represents the organization to the public and other constituents to ensure programs thrive in support of LAM participants.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while maintaining a strong communication line with the President, and Senior Pastor.

The CPO provides strategic leadership that results in all programs and ministries of Los Angeles Mission working together to:

  • Break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for people who come to LAM for help.
  • Stabilize people in a safe and spiritual environment.
  • Connect people to solutions and support along their journey.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Chief Program Officer's essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leadership and Management

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to all program teams and departments.
  • Establish and communicate a vision for programs, cultivating staff to uphold that vision.
  • Design, implement, and monitor program performance standards.
  • Develop policies and operational standards, creating training opportunities for professional growth.
  • Analyze and assess program results based on data to course-correct when necessary.

Financial and Compliance

  • Oversee program funding and stewardship strategies in collaboration with the Leadership.
  • Coordinate with the Development and Community Engagement Department on public and private grant applications and potential funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the President, CEO, Chief Operations and Administration Officer and Accounting Department to develop program-specific and annual department budgets.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, and Compliance to ensure all sites meet code and regulatory requirements.
