Job Duties:

  • Perform in-process, receiving and final inspections.
  • Perform acceptance inspections of parts fabricated and manufactured in-house or by suppliers.
  • Maintaining the calibration, shelf-life, scrap parts and other quality programs for both the MRO and MFG operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Manages QC Inspectors assigned to Quality section and assigns and prioritizes their daily work.
  • Advise the General Manager of areas of concern in the operations or quality system.
  • Review manuals, policies and procedures on an ongoing basis and recommend changes.
  • Monitors training and maintaining training records.
  • Monitors and trains collateral duty QC Inspectors.
  • Manages and performs internal audits.
  • Interact with customers and certifying agency audit personnel during routine audits.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as needed. 
  • Ability to accept supervisor’s input about how to order those priorities.
  • Able to supervise Quality Inspectors.
  • Assures that he understands the needs of other functions supported by QC.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to keep emotions in check while discussing/debating issues within and outside the Quality Department.
  • Ability to understand when to compromise and when to stand firm. 
  • Intimate knowledge of the Unipak Aviation repair station manual, MFG quality manual and applicable FAA regulations.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and well with production, administrative, QC, engineering and management.
  • Excellent reasoning and strong decision making skills.

Preferred Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Substantial aerospace industry knowledge in the areas of MRO and/or manufacturing.
  • Working in an environment with a formal quality system eg. ISO, AS9100/9110, FAA, etc.
  • Understands component repair station operations.
  • Interaction with regulatory and customer auditors.
  • Good word processing skills.
  • Effective supervisory skills.
  • Effective CAPA and Root Causation methodology

Preferred Education / Experience: 

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant or Repairman’s certificate.
  • AS9100 and or AS9110 Internal Auditor (Lead Auditor a plus)
  • 6+ years working in Quality Control or as a technician in an FAA-certificated component repair station.
  • Continual Improvement background
