Docupace is seeking a Chief Software Architect to provide executive-level architectural leadership for our WealthTech platform. This role is responsible for defining the enterprise technology vision, guiding platform architecture, and ensuring our systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business strategy. This position is open only to candidates who reside in the Philadelphia metropolitan area (also known as the Delaware Valley or Greater Philadelphia region) at the time of application.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Docupace is seeking a Chief Architect to define and drive the long-term technology architecture that powers our WealthTech ecosystem. Reporting directly to the CTO, this executive leadership role is responsible for establishing enterprise architecture strategy, guiding platform evolution, and ensuring that technology investments align with business objectives.
As the organization's foremost technical authority, you will provide architectural leadership across applications, infrastructure, data, integrations, security, and cloud platforms. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, Compliance, and executive leadership to create scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support Docupace's continued growth and innovation.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance visionary architecture with practical execution, enabling the company to modernize platforms, accelerate delivery, and maintain the operational excellence expected by financial services clients.

Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy
- Define and maintain the current-state and future-state enterprise architecture vision aligned with company objectives.
- Develop multi-year architectural roadmaps that support product strategy, operational scalability, and organizational growth.
- Establish enterprise-wide technology standards, governance frameworks, and architectural best practices.
- Drive architectural initiatives that improve business efficiency, increase platform scalability, and support revenue growth.
- Communicate architectural strategy, decisions, and priorities to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Platform Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Design and oversee the implementation of end-to-end integrated systems across the Docupace ecosystem.
- Provide architectural direction and governance for application, infrastructure, data, integration, and cloud platforms.
- Lead enterprise data architecture efforts, including data governance, metadata management, and system interoperability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve platform capabilities and long-term competitiveness.
- Ensure architectural consistency, maintainability, security, and operational excellence across all technology investments.
Governance, Risk & Operational Excellence
- Establish and oversee enterprise architecture governance processes and review boards.
- Ensure new initiatives, systems, and technology investments align with approved architectural standards and policies.
- Identify architectural risks and technical debt, developing strategies to mitigate risk and improve platform health.
- Create architectural metrics, maturity assessments, and executive reporting frameworks to measure effectiveness and progress.
- Partner with Security, Compliance, and Engineering leaders to ensure platforms meet regulatory and operational requirements.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Success, and executive leadership teams to align technology decisions with business priorities.
- Build organizational support for enterprise-wide architecture initiatives and strategic technology investments.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to architects, engineering leaders, and senior technical contributors.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CTO and executive leadership team on technology strategy, innovation, and organizational scalability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including significant experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering, or platform engineering leadership roles.
- Proven experience designing and governing large-scale enterprise systems and distributed architectures.
- Strong expertise across application architecture, cloud infrastructure, integration platforms, data architecture, and security.
- Demonstrated success creating and executing enterprise technology roadmaps that align with business objectives.
- Experience establishing architecture governance processes, standards, and organizational best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience within financial services, fintech, wealth management, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, workflow automation, document management platforms, and compliance-focused architectures.
- Experience leading cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation technologies within enterprise platforms.
