Position: Chief Technology Officer Division: Strategic Planning, Assessment, Radio, Technology, & Audio/Visual Salary: $60,000-$65,000 FLSA Classification: Salaried, Exempt Position Type/Duration: Full Time/12 months Position Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday (Evenings, weekends, and travel required) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the College. Responsible for network computing, administrative computing, telecommunications and academic learning technology initiatives. Responsible for the planning and operation of the campus Local Area Network and the support of all the computer and software programs in use in labs, office and residence halls on campus. Responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and growth of the campus technology infrastructure. Hire, evaluate and recommend continued employment of support staff. Serves as a resource for instructional and administrative areas in planning technology usage. Assists in the development of a training program including Jenzabar, Learning Management System, PowerFaids, and other applications. Assist in the annual budgeting process for technology. Serves as a member of the Strategic Planning Council and chairs the Technology Planning Committee. Responsible for the production of the Computer Services Policies Manual and a 5-year Technology Plan for the Institution. Other duties as required by the Vice President for Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Technology and the President. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standard Office Environment EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, systems administration, network management, higher education technology, or a related field. Demonstrated experience managing and supporting enterprise technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, telecommunications, end-user computing, and software applications. Experience with Jenzabar or a comparable higher education enterprise resource planning (ERP) or student information system (SIS). Demonstrated experience with database management, including database administration, reporting, data integrity, or related functions. Experience with Learning Management Systems and other academic technology platforms. Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining technology policies, procedures, and strategic technology plans. Demonstrated experience supervising, evaluating, and developing IT personnel. Experience with technology budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and project planning. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data privacy, access controls, backup and disaster recovery practices, and technology risk management. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders to identify technology needs and develop effective solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a dynamic higher education environment.
