Job Summary
Assumes responsibility for being a Team Leader and for delivering the prescribed daily treatment, billing, scheduling, and teaching for Radiation Oncology patients. Participates in quality assurance measures, documenting and monitoring patients during treatment. Assumes duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor''s degree in radiation therapy from an accredited program.
Work Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a patient care setting in Radiation Therapy is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification (e.g., from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or a board-eligible candidate.
Essential Functions
- Clearly and accurately document designated processes, policies, products, services, and operational procedures.
- Ensure all documentation is appropriately tailored to the intended audience and end users.
- Utilize correct clinical and operational terminology while adhering to established style, formatting, and documentation standards.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of equipment operation and functionality.
- Maintain equipment in proper working order and troubleshoot equipment-related issues as needed.
- Leverage technology to improve efficiency and productivity while adapting to new systems and technological advancements.
- Manage PHO requests, assignment rotations, and machine coverage to maintain uninterrupted patient care and departmental operations.
- Serve as a primary resource for clinical questions and provide guidance on clinical processes.
- Assist with transportation concerns, scheduling coordination, workflow management, and other operational issues.
- Act as a liaison between physicians and staff regarding patient treatment-related concerns and issues.
- Attend and actively participate in daily morning meetings and/or departmental huddles.
- Utilize GHX P-Suite for supply ordering, assist in resolving timekeeping and clocking discrepancies prior to payroll approval, and maintain spreadsheets used for treatment area documentation and tracking.
- Support the Manager in employee performance evaluations by providing relevant clinical feedback and observations.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration among physicians, staff, and patients to ensure high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
