We are seeking a Child & Adolescent Clinician who is skilled in providing child and adolescent mental health therapy to ages 3 to 17 years. Title: Child & Adolescent Clinician

Supervisor: Center Director, Clinical Supervisor (LCSW)

Status: Full-Time, Exempt, 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday. No on-call, no weekends, and no holiday requirements

Locations: Poughkeepsie

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually (Sign-on Bonus Available)

Salaries are based on experience, education, and length of licensure.

Job Requirements:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker R - Psychotherapy Privilege (LCSW-R).
  • Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW).
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Must possess NYS license.

Other Requirements:

  • The Child & Adolescent Focused Clinician serves youth ages 3-17 years in an immersive experience providing individual and group therapy and working with their families to support growth and development. 
  • Must be experienced in providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities, such as CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy, to address the unique needs of each client.
  • Possess strong administrative, time management and organizational skills.
  • Be an adept communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus.

  • Family Services Behavioral Health Centers are eligible for the Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) through the federal Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). This is a program where an employee’s student loan repayment funds are provided in exchange for a commitment to work at a STAR LRP approved facility for a certain number of years.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Child & Adolescent Clinician with Family Services, you’ll have the opportunity to work with individuals in the following ways.

  • Provide diagnostic evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for children, adolescents, and their families, focusing on both individual and family therapy as needed.
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as school staff, medical professionals, and case managers to coordinate holistic care for clients.
  • Assist with the pre-intake, intake, and screening of new clients into the system and providing information on their psycho-social history.
  • Create youth centered treatment plans for clients, modify on an ongoing basis in reflection of their progress in therapy and prepare them for the completion of their treatment.
  • Complete administrative tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining case records, documenting all clients’ contacts, and meeting deadlines, responding to outside agency queries regarding client information.
  • Develop and implement follow-up studies to determine program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with appropriate parties on client’s treatment (i.e., schools, Social Services, case managers, probation department).
  • Provide clients with information and educational community activities to mitigate substance use and mental health issues.
  • Act as a client advocate and liaison with community resources.
  • Provide training to colleagues on issues related to mental health treatment.
