Child Care Assistant Manager - Part Time (Internal Applicant Only) JobID: 10630 Position Type: Child Care - Before & After School Program/Child Care ProgramDate Posted: 10/6/2026Location: West Ridge ElementaryDate Available: October 2026 Closing Date: 10/13/2026 Additional Information: Show/HideDESCRIPTION: Assistant Child Care Manager INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY/ Responsible for assisting with ensuring that the child care environment is safe and healthy for both staff and children while maintaining the state licensing rules regulating child care school-aged programs, and providing high quality BOOST activities for students. Assist with maintaining records that include the following: staffing, attendance, and collecting tuition for the program. Act as Program Manager when the Manager is not working.SALARY: Classified Grade N, $23.20 - $28.63 per hour based on previous experience, 4.5 hours per day, 18 hours per week. Hours are mornings from 6:30-8:00 am and afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday. 9 month work schedule. Position is part time and is not benefitted.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise the child care environment to ensure that it is a safe and healthy place for children and staff.Actively supervise children on and off-site.Ensure that appropriate activities are planned and prepared for a variety of age levels and that the BOOST curriculum is being followed.Assist with ordering, preparing, and providing nutritional snacks. Ensure that good hygiene is followed during snack timeEnsure that attendance is taken at regular intervals and contact parents to inquire about absence if necessary.Assist with ordering, inventory, maintain and replace age-appropriate materials for the children, including supplies, books, recreational equipment, etc.Assist with scheduling and training program staff, in cooperation with the CoordinatorMaintain toys, recreational equipment, and facilities. Ensure routine cleaning is done when necessary.Discuss issues regarding student behavior or activities with parents, as appropriate.Assist with collecting monthly tuition payments.Assist with maintaining and updating parent newsletters and any other written material for distribution that are necessary for the programs. Guide parents to the proper information contained in the parent handbook and on the child care web page.Maintain the school aged program with state licensing regulations and district policies and procedures.Directly supervises employees at the child care site.Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Additional duty as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent.In addition, must have completed at least one of the following qualifications:A 4-year college degree with major such as recreation, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education, or a subject in Human service field.A two-year college training and 6 months of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care/supervision of 4 or more children.Three years of satisfactory/verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time. Paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care/supervision of 4 or more children. The program director must complete 6 semester hours, 9 quarter hours in course work which must be in child growth/development and be from an accredited college or university, or 40 clock hours of training in course work (child growth/development) applicable to school-age children within the first 9 months of employment.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: First Aid, CPR, standard precautions, and medication administration certifications required upon hire. 15 hours of childcare training is required annuallyREQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of experience in a child care or recreation center with 40+ kids; 2 ½ years of experience in a supervisory role; and 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, inventory, planning, and ordering.Links to Important Job Information: Benefits InformationSalary SchedulesLeaves InformationNon-Discrimination NoticeAll future correspondence will be handled via the email address you provided in your online application.
