Child Care Attendant

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 2:27 pm 
Pay: $19.29 per hour

Position Summary

The Child Care Attendant is responsible for providing direct supervision, support, and care to children in educational, recreational, and community-based settings. The ideal candidate will foster a positive atmosphere, encourage appropriate social interactions, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in their care.

Essential Responsibilities

✅ Supervise and actively engage children throughout daily activities

✅ Assist children with personal care needs and daily routines as needed

✅ Promote positive behavior and reinforce healthy social interactions

✅ Monitor children's safety, well-being, and participation throughout the day

✅ Assist with educational, recreational, and enrichment activities

✅ Support reading, homework, and skill-building exercises

✅ Encourage independence while providing guidance and assistance

✅ Help children develop communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills

✅ Observe and document behaviors, incidents, and developmental progress

✅ Report concerns regarding child safety, health, or behavior to supervisors

✅ Support children during community outings, field trips, and special events

✅ Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment

✅ Collaborate effectively with staff, families, and other professionals

✅ Follow all childcare, safety, and supervision procedures

✅ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

• Previous childcare, youth development, education, caregiving, camp counseling, or related experience preferred
• Experience working with children of various ages is highly desirable
