Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 2:27 pm Pay: $19.29 per hour

Position Summary

The Child Care Attendant is responsible for providing direct supervision, support, and care to children in educational, recreational, and community-based settings. The ideal candidate will foster a positive atmosphere, encourage appropriate social interactions, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in their care.

Essential Responsibilities

Supervise and actively engage children throughout daily activities

Assist children with personal care needs and daily routines as needed

Promote positive behavior and reinforce healthy social interactions

Monitor children's safety, well-being, and participation throughout the day

Assist with educational, recreational, and enrichment activities

Support reading, homework, and skill-building exercises

Encourage independence while providing guidance and assistance

Help children develop communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills

Observe and document behaviors, incidents, and developmental progress

Report concerns regarding child safety, health, or behavior to supervisors

Support children during community outings, field trips, and special events

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment

Collaborate effectively with staff, families, and other professionals

Follow all childcare, safety, and supervision procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

• Previous childcare, youth development, education, caregiving, camp counseling, or related experience preferred
• Experience working with children of various ages is highly desirable

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Employment Requirements
