Position Overview:We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and organized
Childcare Director to lead our center and ensure the highest standards of care, education, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the childcare center
- Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) licensing and safety regulations
- Hire, train, and supervise teaching and administrative staff
- Implement educational programs and curricula
- Maintain strong relationships with families and staff
- Manage budgets, enrollment, and facility maintenance
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all children
Qualifications:
- Must meet Virginia state requirements for a Childcare Center Director (e.g., CDA, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or related field)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education and 1 year in a supervisory role
- Knowledge of Virginia licensing regulations and quality standards (e.g., VQB5, subsidy program participation)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Experience with curriculum planning and staff development
- Familiarity with Procare or similar childcare management software
