Child Care Provider

Part-Time, Staff

Roeper is currently recruiting for a Child Care Provider for our Auxiliary Programs Department.

Position Summary:

The Child Care Provider position offers flexible work hours. The child care program is open on school days, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Depending upon availability, employees have the opportunity to work 1 to 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Document the arrival and departure of students
Know what activities each student is engaged in and their whereabouts
Coordinate attendance for students participating in enrichment or other extracurricular activities
Ensure that students are released to authorized parent, guardian or approved designee
Provide appropriate care and supervision of students to ensure the safety and well-being of the student
Interact with each student in a positive manner
Supervise students and monitor their activities in a friendly and responsible manner
Provide a variety of activities and experiences that meet the developmental needs of students
Promote positive relationships, good sportsmanship, and safety
Be proactive in encouraging a secure environment
Ensure students are not alone or unsupervised
Communicates with Director and parents regarding students’ experience
Maintains organized childcare area and reports safety or cleanliness concerns
Provide first aid to students and report accidents

Skills:

Ability to effectively supervise and care for children
Strong interpersonal communications skills with both children and adults
Basic first aid skills
Ability to form collaborative work relationships
Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency work and to perform responsibilities in accordance with Roeper's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree
Previous child care experience preferred

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this role is $16.50.
