The CHC Ravenswood program focuses on supporting children, youth, and families experiencing trauma, adversity, systemic barriers, and cultural stressors. This position is ideal for a clinician-leader who is passionate about providing culturally responsive, community-based mental health services to historically underserved populations and advancing health equity through evidence-based care. 

 

Job Summary

The Child Care Provider is an aspiring educator with a deep love of working with, supporting and spending time with young children. In this role, the childcare provider will support a variety of parent-facing events, ensuring that parents and caretakers have the opportunity to fully engage in wellness coaching and other school meetings.

This position is a Part-time position (about 12 hours a week) and must be available to work mornings and/or evenings (i.e. 8:30am-11am, 5:30pm-8pm)

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

         Support Parent Coaches in creating a warm and welcoming environment for children.

         Preparing the childcare space with appropriate toys, activities, and snacks

      Support parent sign-in/-out process, transition to/from parents/caregivers, and/or other operational procedures.

      Proactively communicate the supply needs to the Operations team.

      Clean-up and break-down space after each childcare session.

 

Required Qualifications:

      Experience working with children in a school, after school program, summer camp, babysitting or similarly structured environment.

         Flexible schedule   with the ability to work evenings, or mornings

         Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with kids 

         Ability to engage confidently across differences. You believe that differences - in race, culture, gender, age, background, experiences - enrich our community and know how to bridge those differences with grace and humility.

         Kind, humble, and collaborative, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn from challenges.

         At least 18 years old.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

         Understanding of early childhood education and child development.

        Fluency in Spanish.

·        Connection to East Palo Alto or Belle Haven  and/or have experience working with a community similar to East Palo Alto and Belle Haven.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.

 

Special Job Requirements: Flexibility will be required in work schedule; evening and weekend hours may be required. This is an in-person position requiring onsite presence at CHC’s office in East Palo Alto. Ideally: Tue and Thu 8:30am-11am, 5:30pm-8pm

 

Compensation:

This is an hourly, part-time position with about 12 hours a week. Hourly pay is $19-22/hour.
