We are seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Child Care Teacher/Floater to join our team. This position will provide support throughout the center by assisting in different classrooms as needed and helping maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and positive environment for children.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, is flexible and reliable, works well as part of a team, and is willing to assist wherever needed throughout the day.
Job Responsibilities
Provide a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for children.
Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines, activities, and lesson plans.
Float between classrooms and provide coverage as needed, including during breaks, lunches, staff absences, and transitions.
Supervise children at all times and follow proper supervision and safety procedures.
Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, art, music, movement, and other classroom experiences.
Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as appropriate for the age group.
Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, including sanitizing toys, tables, learning materials, and other areas.
Assist with classroom setup and cleanup throughout the day.
Follow the center’s schedules, policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
Help monitor children’s needs, behavior, and development and communicate concerns to the appropriate teacher or administrator.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
Participate in required training, staff meetings, and professional development.
Be willing to work with different age groups and adapt to the needs of each classroom.
Perform other child care and center duties as assigned

Qualifications
Previous child care, preschool, early childhood, or classroom experience preferred.
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices is preferred.
Ability to supervise and safely manage groups of children.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Dependable, punctual, flexible, and willing to assist in different classrooms.
Ability to follow directions, center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures.
Must be able to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a busy child care environment.
Early Childhood Education coursework, Child Development Certificate, or related education is a plus.
Must be willing to complete all required background checks, training, certifications, and other requirements for employment in a licensed child care setting.
