Position Overview
The Child Care Testing Coordinator ensures that all deliverables related to the childcare competency exams are met, including but not limited to scheduling, preparing and processing all childcare exams. This is a temporary grant funded position contingent upon grant funding through June 30, 2027. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.
What you will be doing
- Prepares the testing packages for exam sessions and verifies that all packages are complete
- Maintains the security of child care competency exams at all times
- Provides guidance and oversees child care personnel to ensure the exam process is carried out
- Ensures that there are always sufficient exam sessions made available to meet the community needs
- Provides training to proctors responsible for administering the child care exams
- Ensures that the procedures outlined in the "Child Care Exam Administration Guide" are being followed at all times by the testing sites
- Works closely with Miami Dade Public School personnel and the testing directors in setting up exam calendars
- Keeps track of child care exam booklets that are created and destroyed by the department
- Maintains the necessary records of all exams administered for a period of six years
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or Associate's degree and seven (7) years of related experience
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and polices and procedures
- Possess excellent organizational skills and have attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other applicable computer programs
- Ability to oversee and train employees to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
- Knowledge and understanding of training and educational principles
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
