Are you passionate about working with children and creating a safe, welcoming environment? Because Children Matter is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Child Services Team Member (Child Care Worker) to join our Noah's Place Child Waiting Room team at the Pomona Courthouse in Pommona.

Our Child Waiting Rooms provide children with a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment while their parents or guardians attend to court-related matters.

In this role, you will care for children from infancy through age 13, providing positive interactions, engaging activities, and attentive supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing care and continuous supervision for children from birth through age 13.

• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment while following established childcare safety procedures.

• Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, reading, games, and educational play.

• Follow child check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring children are released only to authorized adults.

• Assist children with daily care needs, including diaper changing, toileting, handwashing, and feeding.

• Provide nutritious snacks and follow established infant feeding procedures.

• Use positive guidance and redirection to support children's behavior and emotional well-being.

• Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and active visual and auditory supervision.

• Keep play areas, toys, and equipment clean, sanitized, and organized.

• Maintain accurate records and communicate safety concerns or important information to supervisors.

• Follow organizational policies, confidentiality requirements, and mandated reporting responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing care to children.

• Experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patient, compassionate, and dependable, with a genuine passion for working with children.

• Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to children's needs and emergencies.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

• Ability to successfully complete required background clearances and pre-employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 or more college units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development.

• Previous experience in a childcare center, preschool, daycare, or similar setting.

• Experience caring for children across multiple age groups.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of required DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Central Index (CACI) background clearances, as applicable.

• Successful completion of pre-employment physical examination and TB clearance.

• Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or moving up to 45 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow all applicable child safety and supervision procedures.
