JOB VACANCY: Child Nutrition Logistics Operator
DEPARTMENT: Child Nutrition
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Supervisor
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Child Nutrition Logistics Operator is responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transportation, storage, and distribution of food, supplies, and equipment to support district-wide child nutrition operations. This position ensures adherence to all federal, state, and district regulations related to food safety, sanitation, inventory control, and transportation, contributing to efficient operations and uninterrupted meal service for students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 Months; Compensation: Level 3 Schedule 18

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Meet all certification requirements as established by the Louisiana Department of Education, BESE, and relevant state and
federal agencies.
- Experience in warehouse, delivery, logistics, or food service operations preferred
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills
- Knowledge of food safety practices preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Logistics and Transportation
- Operate and maintain assigned district vehicles in compliance with all transportation laws and district policies
- Load, transport, and deliver food, supplies, and equipment accurately and on established schedules
- Follow assigned routes and timelines to ensure timely delivery of meals and materials
- Inventory and Warehouse Operations
- Receive, inspect, store, rotate, and distribute inventory in compliance with USDA and district guidelines
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including perpetual inventory and required documentation logs
- Assist with retrieval, redistribution, and inventory of surplus or outdated equipment
- Sanitation and Compliance
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in compliance with health and safety standards
- Monitor and document food temperatures during storage and transport
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance
- Maintain equipment, tools, and warehouse facilities; report damages or repair needs promptly
- Ensure proper use and care of all assigned equipment and vehicles
- Operational Support
- Maintain daily activity logs and documentation
- Open, secure, and monitor warehouse facilities
- Respond promptly to operational needs and emergencies
- Assist with food preparation and service operations as needed
- General Responsibilities
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and supervisory direction
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (freezers, outdoor conditions, loading areas)
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and warehouse equipment

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and logs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and changing priorities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Warehouse and school campus settings
- Exposure to temperature extremes, noise, and moving equipment
- Frequent interaction with staff across multiple sites
