About the Role

The Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan in an outpatient community mental health setting. The psychiatrist will deliver evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, in alignment with standards established by the New York State Office of Mental Health.

This role blends clinical excellence, collaboration, and leadership—supporting patients with complex behavioral health needs while helping shape an innovative model of care.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment for children, adolescents, and adults
  • Deliver medication management, including psychopharmacology, long-acting injectables, and medication optimization
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and relevant medical assessments
  • Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic and laboratory results into treatment planning
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, nurses, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Participate in crisis intervention and urgent clinical support when needed
  • Develop and review individualized treatment plans in accordance with NYSOMH standards
  • Lead or participate in medication groups and patient education initiatives
  • Support quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes
  • Provide supervision and teaching to residents and medical students (as applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and New York State behavioral health regulations

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active, unrestricted New York State medical license issued by the New York State Education Department
  • Active DEA registration and New York State controlled substance certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subspecialty training or board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Experience in outpatient or community mental health settings
  • Strong psychopharmacology experience, including complex medication management
  • Prior teaching or supervisory experience with trainees
  • Familiarity with New York State Office of Mental Health regulations and documentation standards
