The Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant, a member of the child study team, has responsibilities that include consulting with teachers concerning students with learning problems, conducting educational evaluations for potentially classifiable students and developing, recommending and evaluating programs for students with learning problems

IV. QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree with specialization in Learning Disabilities
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in education and learning disabilities teacher consultant experience preferred
Must hold NJ certificate as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (Required)
Such other qualifications of academic, professional and personal excellence as the Edison Township Board of Education may specify
V. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts educational evaluations for potentially classifiable students
Develops, recommends and evaluates programs for students with learning problems with priority given to providing services for students in special education classes/programs
Consultant with classroom teachers regarding any child in the classroom
Confers with parent, when necessary, together with the teachers/administrators and other professional personnel with regard to student problems
Participates in child study team conferences, i.e., interdisciplinary sharing of data, as well as conferences with parents and school personnel
Assists in the preparation of an Individual Education Program for classified students
Screens students for special projects and programs, such as academically talented, kindergarten alert and retention
Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee

September 1 to June 30 and in accordance with the provisions of the BOE/ETEA contract
