Child Watch Attendant

Overview:

Do you love kids and want a part-time job at the Y? As a Child Watch Attendant in our Kids Zone, you'll care for children ages 12 weeks to 8 years while their parents work out, take a class or spend some time at the Y.

 

Schedule: Weeknights and Saturdays including one Saturday night a month for Kids Night Out

Responsibilities:

• Greet each child and family with a smile as they arrive and leave
• Follow sign-out procedures to make sure each child is only released to a person authorized to pick them up
• Care for children ages 12 weeks to 8 years in a safe, clean and organized Kids Zone
• Lead age-appropriate activities, arts and crafts
• Follow good health practices, including handwashing and cleaning play surfaces and toys
• Keep records of children participating in the program
• Know the Kids Zone's safety and emergency procedures, and speak up right away about any unsafe conditions, accidents or injuries

Qualifications:

• At least 16 years of age.
• Certifications in Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of employment (free training available).
• Ability, desire, and basic skills to work with children.
• Ability to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.
• Able to reflect a positive attitude.
