JOB DESCRIPTION

Childcare staff are an integral part of the Recreation Department, supporting before and after school care at local school sites. Childcare staff work in a team to provide quality care for children in grades TK - 6th, leading activities, building relationships, and making memories.

Hours per week: varies, up to 30 hours with flexible options for scheduling. Programs open Monday - Friday, additional opportunities are available within other Parks and Recreation programs if desired. Early morning, mid-day or afternoon shifts available.

JOB SUMMARY:

Child Care Aides are an essential part of the Youth Services team! They

engage with kids, play, guide, mentor and have fun at work!

Average hours per week: 10-30

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain positive relations with parents.
  • Plan and conduct daily schedule of activities.
  • Responsible for the safety, health and happiness of the children.
  • Assist other staff in directing and overseeing childrens activities.
  • Chaperone field trips and outdoor activities.
  • Oversee snack preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

POSSESSION AND MAINTENANCE OF:

  • Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice will be required
  • Child Abuse Index check
  • Tuberculosis Clearance and satisfactory Health Screening
