Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour


Job Summary
Come Join Us at The Learning Experience Dallas Frankford where our mission is to make a difference in the life of a child, their families, and the community we serve. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to support our daily food service and center operations. This role plays a critical part in creating a nurturing environment by preparing healthy meals and snacks for our children and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and pantry space.


This position requires flexibility and a team-oriented mindset, as the cook may also support with opening the center and providing teacher breaks when needed.



Responsibilities 
  • Prepare and serve two snacks and one lunch daily, following nutritional guidelines and allergy-safe practices.
  • Deliver meals to classrooms in a timely and hygienic manner.
  • Wash dishes, sanitize kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and pantry area.
  • Take out pantry/kitchen trash and uphold cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Assist in opening the center (potentially as early as 6:30 a.m.) and support classroom staff with scheduled breaks when needed.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations including food handling and sanitation protocols.
  • Communicate with the director and teachers to ensure meal timing and classroom needs are met.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Experience in food preparation, kitchen maintenance, or childcare setting preferred
  • Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Positive, team-player attitude with strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Must be available to work between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., with hours subject to adjustment based on center needs.
