Lifesteps' Child Care Program is expanding! A new preschool location is opening at Butler County Community College this coming school year and we are hiring a Part-Time Child Care Assistant Sub (AGS) to work at the new location in Butler, PA.

Lifesteps is a non-profit, human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by "helping individuals and families with life's changing needs". The Agency provides programs and services to help children of all abilities with their early care and education needs.

Lifesteps is hiring a part-time Assistant Group Supervisor Substitute (also known as Child Care Assistant or Teacher Aide) to work various hours and various day in the preschool center at BC3. The position will start in August 2026.

Job duties include:

• the care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
• assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• inform parents about the child's day

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children, etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field, or a CDA
