    Description

Children's Ministry Director - South Park Church

    Children’s Ministry Champion (Director)

    (Focus: Shepherd-Leader & Team Builder)

Passionate leader who loves seeing children grow in Jesus while equipping an amazing team of volunteers to do the same? We are looking for a relational, vision-driven Children’s Ministry Director (Birth–5th Grade) to shepherd our leaders and volunteers, nurture our families, and create vibrant, safe spaces where kids thrive.

THE MISSION (If one accepts it):

The Director isn't just managing programs; one is building a thriving community of shepherd-leaders and ministry teams. The primary goal is to love, support, and empower our volunteers so they can, in turn, effectively disciple the children.

    THE “FUN” RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Volunteer Cultivator (Shepherd-Leader): Identify, recruit, and coach new leaders, moving them from supporters to shepherd-leaders.
    • Team Cheerleader: Build community-based, high-energy teams through regular "huddles" and personal care (one-on-ones, prayer, and encouragement).
    • Visionary Planner: Partner with leadership to craft a fun, Jesus-centered ministry vision.
    • Event Dynamo: Lead the charge on epic events like VBS and holiday programs.
    • Family Partner: Equip parents to be the primary spiritual leaders at home.
    • Culture Creator: Foster a culture of appreciation and safety (e.g. handwritten notes, public praise, and safety checks).

    BE THE NEXT LEADER.

    • Loves Jesus & Kids: has a growing faith and a huge heart for nurturing children.
    • A People Person: Strong relational intelligence, communication skills, and a "shepherd's heart".
    • A Coach: Experience in developing teams, delegating tasks effectively and leaning into difficult conversations as needed.
    • Experience: 3+ years in ministry/education leadership is preferred, but not critical.
    • Education: A degree in Bible, Theology, or Education is great, but a passion for discipleship is essential.
