    Organization:

    SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento

    Position Overview:

    Is responsible for providing genetic counseling to patients referred to the program who may be at risk for a hereditary condition. Counsels patients referred to the program on all genetic testing related matters, including risk assessment, overview of genetic testing, test results and implications, and suggested follow-up.

    Job Description:

    EDUCATION:
    Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

    • Master's: Genetic Counseling

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 years recent relevant experience.
    • Preferred Experience in Pediatric Genetics


    CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

    • CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor



    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling.
    • Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills, good writing ability.
    • Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals.

    Pay Range is $97,032.00 to $145,558.40 / annual salary

    The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
