This role requires strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and mechanical systems, including:Air-cooled chillersWater-cooled chillersCooling towersBoilersPumpsAir handling equipmentSplit systems and packaged rooftop unitsEvaluate equipment conditions and provide recommendations regarding repairs or equipment replacementResearch and identify replacement components and manufacturer-approved repair proceduresExplain technical findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers in a professional mannerParticipate in the company's rotating emergency on-call programKeep assigned vehicle, tools, and parts inventory clean, organized, and properly maintainedComplete accurate service records using company software, including:Labor and time entriesService and repair detailsEquipment informationCustomer approvals and signaturesMaintain regular communication with dispatch, service coordination staff, and managementUtilize mobile devices and computer-based systems for reporting, documentation, and job trackingReporting RelationshipReports Directly To: Service ManagerRequired QualificationsAt least 3-5 years of hands-on chiller service experience with professional references available upon requestExtensive knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and diagnostic proceduresDemonstrated ability to determine when equipment should be repaired versus replacedExcellent customer service and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to take initiative and provide leadership when situations require itUniversal EPA Certification is mandatoryAbility and willingness to travel to customer locations as neededProfessional appearance and conduct at all timesCapable of working independently and managing service calls with limited supervisionStrong written communication and documentation skills required
