TITLE Chiller Technician

REPORTS TO Service Manager

JOB DUTIES The Chiller Technician is our highest level of Service Technician. The Chiller Technician is capable of diagnosing and repairing all levels of HVAC equipment, all proficiencies of a Service Technician III, including very large and sophisticated chiller plants.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The Chiller Technician has at least two certifications in the repair of chiller plants, such as McQuay or Daiken, and is capable of complete teardowns and rebuilds of the plants. Identify, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations via dispatcher. Unitary products from 1-ton mini splits to 50-ton package units.

TROUBLE SHOOTING • Trouble shoot VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and control issues • Change compressors • Perform maintenance • Troubleshoot water and air flow issues

BOILERS • Repair and verify correct operation of boilers • Perform combustion analysis • Troubleshoot water and air flow issues

CHILLERS Diagnose compressor motor and starter issues with Wye Delta AFD and solid state starters. Tear down and rebuild as necessary compressors, oil pumps, and starters. Perform leak searches on low pressure chillers Megha-Ohm compressor motors.

EXPERIENCE Experience in Turbor Core and Centrifugal compressors is a plus.

TROUBLE SHOOTING CONTINUED • Trouble shoot water flow issues • Control issues related to chiller operation • Control valves • Trouble shoot signal and control issues related to control valves • Heat Exchangers • Trouble shoot water flow issues and determine deficiencies in performance issues

TEAR DOWN AND REASSEMBLY Tear down, clean, and reassemble with new gaskets.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Over 5 years field experience plus specialized training. Provide all information from each service call to the dispatcher before leaving the job site and document work by accurately completing paperwork and maintaining files. Provide initial and follow-up training at customer sites. Expand business by discussing other services available.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE • Must be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams • Computer skills are a must, working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

SAFETY This is a safety-sensitive position. Valid drivers license, pre-hire drug screen required, and ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
