Senior Chiller Tech
A leading commercial mechanical services contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Chiller Tech to join its service team.
This position is responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and startup of centrifugal chillers and central plant equipment serving healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, higher education, and commercial facilities.
This is not a general HVAC service role. We are seeking a dedicated chiller specialist with extensive experience working on centrifugal chillers and central plant equipment. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to rooftop units (RTUs), package units, split systems, residential HVAC, or light commercial service will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair centrifugal chillers
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, overhauls, and equipment assessments
- Troubleshoot electrical, controls, VFDs, motors, starters, and compressors
- Service cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and chilled water systems
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and sequences of operation
- Complete service reports and documentation using mobile technology
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations with customers
- Maintain a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment
Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of commercial chiller service experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with centrifugal chillers
- Factory-trained and/or certified with at least one of the following manufacturers:
- York / Johnson Controls (JCI)
- Carrier
- Trane
- Daikin / McQuay
- Strong electrical, controls, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with chilled water plants, cooling towers, pumps, and hydronic systems
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently in the field

Compensation
$40.00 - $55.00+ per hour DOE
