    Description

    We have an excellent opportunity for a Chip Seal Superintendent in our Southern Idaho Division located in the Boise Valley!

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
    • Responsible for the direct supervision of daily work assignments and communicates with foremen to determine appropriate staffing and scheduling needs, materials and equipment requirements, repairs and maintenance, jobsite traffic control, monitoring project performance, and ensuring that project is completed according to project specifications.
    • Review project details with project manager on a weekly basis and monitor work progress to meet project schedules and specifications.
    • Provide strong leadership skills by possessing the ability to motivate and provide mentorship to all employees, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of chip seal road construction, material, repair, and maintenance procedures and techniques.
    • Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best construction practices.
    • Knowledge of the operation of heavy highway construction and maintenance equipment.
    • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret maps, engineering drawings, and blueprints relative to road and bridge construction, maintenance, and repair.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Must be able to work both day and night shifts if necessary. Shifts may vary according to project demands
    • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
    • Must be able to travel if job requires. During heavy construction season, candidate may be on the road for several months at a time.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
    • Job requires steady to intermittent and repetitive physical activity including: standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and raking. Additional Information How To Apply
