POSITION SUMMARY

The Chiropractor provides evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for patients with work-related injuries within a multidisciplinary workers’ compensation setting. This role exists to support patients' recovery, functional improvement, and return-to-work goals through evidence-based chiropractic care and coordinated treatment planning. The Chiropractor collaborates closely with physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, Patient Care Coordinators, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and positive clinical outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate patients with work-related injuries by assessing the neuromusculoskeletal system, spine, functional limitations, and overall physical condition.
  • Review patient medical histories, work injury details, symptoms, diagnostic imaging, and clinical findings to support accurate assessment and treatment planning.
  • Provide chiropractic treatment, including manual adjustments, mobilization, therapeutic exercises, and other appropriate modalities within scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support pain reduction, functional improvement, recovery, and return-to-work goals.
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, work status updates, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in accordance with PRCMG standards, workers’ compensation requirements, and billing guidelines.
  • Review x-rays or other diagnostic imaging, when available and clinically appropriate, to identify sources of pain, functional limitations, or underlying conditions.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, posture, body mechanics, therapeutic exercises, activity modification, and self-management strategies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, Patient Care Coordinators, claims adjusters, nurse case managers, and other members of the care team to support coordinated patient care.
  • Recommend referrals, additional evaluations, diagnostic imaging, or supportive devices such as braces, straps, tape, or other supports when clinically appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with PRCMG policies, HIPAA requirements, California Workers’ Compensation guidelines, and applicable professional standards.
  • Travel to other clinic locations as needed to provide patient care and support clinical operations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required (Education, Experience, AND Skills)

  • Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from an accredited chiropractic college.
  • Current and unrestricted California Chiropractic License in good standing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in chiropractic care, occupational health, rehabilitation, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation principles, and evidence-based chiropractic treatment practices.
  • Strong understanding of California Workers’ Compensation processes, documentation requirements, and return-to-work principles.
  • Experience treating patients within a workers’ compensation or occupational medicine setting.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation, pain management, or functional restoration program.
  • Familiarity with California Workers’ Compensation treatment guidelines and utilization review processes.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients, providers, employers, and insurance representatives.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance required.

PREFERRED

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
