Basic Function: Responsible for packaging artisan chocolates in a timely and organized manner ensuring each piece of chocolate meets company standards. Educating our customers on our products, making recommendations based on their preferences, and completing the sale. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED. Customer Service Skills, Basic Math Skills, and Attention to Detail. Physical demands are standing, stooping, and kneeling, use of hands, eyes, and arms. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. Clean kitchen uniform, hair restraint and appropriate shoes are to be worn. Single use gloves are to be worn with Ready to Eat (RTE) foods. Equipment Used: Speed racks, Shrink Wrap Machine, Cash Register, Computer with Mouse Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Including, but not limited to: - Greet customers entering the Chocolate Artisan Center.
- Educate customers on our products, make recommendations, and finalize the sale.
- Review and organize customer orders based on delivery/shipment schedule to prioritize order of packaging invoices for the day.
- Priority attention given to web orders to meet delivery schedules.
- Wash hands and wear single use gloves with all RTE foods. Change gloves and rewash hands when gloves become contaminated or switching jobs.
- Inspect artisan chocolates for quality prior to packaging to ensure chocolates meet company standards. Review product batches not meeting standards with the General Manager, Sales & Support. Chocolate, not meeting company standards will be set aside for rework or as seconds.
- Box retail chocolate in signature line or seasonal boxes, include chocolate book and ingredient label with completion date.
- Box wholesale chocolate orders in bulk chocolate boxes based on orders needed.
- Ensure all chocolate invoices are complete and accurate. Notify the Customer Sales Coordinator of any changes to invoices, shortages, and issues that need to be addressed with customers.
- Document work completed.
- Organize and maintain inventory of packaging supplies and POS packaging.
- Notify General Manager, Sales & Support of packaging supplies levels ensuring production is not disrupted by shortages taking into consideration lead times during peak holiday seasons.
- Maintain all utensils in a clean and sanitary manner. Immediately clean away any spills or breakage
- Clean, sanitize, and organize the chocolate packaging room when finish packaging for the day.
- Ensure proper rotation of perishable items.
- Practice preventative maintenance.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by focusing on assigned tasks, promoting a quiet work environment that allows coworkers to produce efficiently to meet the company’s goals for product quality, production efficiencies and customer service.
- Assure compliance with health department requirements, safety codes and HACCP procedures relevant to food and kitchen operations.
- Minimize waste in the process and record any waste on the waste log sheet.
- Work as a team to meet weekly production goals.
