Sturgeon Bay Middle and High School are seeking a collaborative, energetic applicant who works well with team members to teach 6th-12th grade music. This position involves teaching vocal music, providing lessons, leading a swing choir, and supporting our musicals. Important skills that pertain to this job are knowledge in vocal directing, piano, and theater. Preference may be given to candidates that have experience.
The ideal candidate builds positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, community members, and administrators with a consistent focus on meeting student needs. The candidate will maintain professional accountability and responsibility for all assigned duties and instill high expectations for students to achieve. The candidate will collaborate with our musical team members to produce performances that positively represent our schools and community. A key goal of our vocal teacher is for students to grow an appreciation for various musical knowledge, skills, and styles.
There are also extracurricular opportunities at the middle school and/or high school level such as vocal directing the High School Musical and running an auditioned high school vocal ensemble. Candidates interested in being involved in extracurricular activities are strongly encouraged to apply.
