Position: Chromatography Scientist
Location: Bedford, MA (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $40/hr on W2
Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)

Position Summary
We are seeking an Application Engineer / Scientist III to join the Downstream Applications team supporting the design, development, and testing of advanced chromatography technologies used in therapeutic biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD (Chemical Engineering preferred) with hands-on chromatography experience and a strong background in laboratory research, product development, and bioprocessing technologies. Recent PhD graduates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and evaluate prototype chromatography products and technologies.
Conduct laboratory experiments supporting downstream bioprocessing applications.
Develop innovative materials, devices, and methods that improve product performance and cost efficiency.
Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports and presentations.
Troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective engineering solutions.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and cross-functional R&D teams throughout product development and validation.
Support product development from concept through successful product launch.
Ensure compliance with EHS safety procedures and laboratory protocols.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and engineers.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technology development programs.

Required Qualifications
PhD in Chemical Engineering (Highly Preferred), Chemistry, Applied Science, or a related technical discipline.
Recent PhD graduates are welcome to apply.
Hands-on experience with Chromatography systems (Mandatory).
Strong laboratory research and experimental design experience.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and EHS compliance.

Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Chemical Engineering.
Experience supporting biopharmaceutical manufacturing or downstream processing.
Product development or R&D experience within Life Sciences or Biotechnology.
Experience developing chromatography products or purification technologies.
Strong collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Development teams.
