JOB GOAL:

The Chromebook Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining Chromebook devices to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality repair standards.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve month 12-month contract (240 days) Salary Range:110 ($35,031 - $60,867) plus Benefit Package NOTE: Precise placement on the salary schedule will be determined based upon experience. FLSA: Exempt.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree (AS) and/or High School Diploma with technology experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in computer, laptop, or mobile device repair.
  • Basic understanding of Chromebook hardware and ChromeOS.
  • Experience using hand tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and repair guides.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive repair tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent technical certification.
  • Experience working in a K-12 education technology environment.
  • Familiarity with Google Admin Console and device enrollment processes.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and ticketing platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Diagnose hardware and software issues on Chromebook devices.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of screens, keyboards, batteries, motherboards, charging ports, and other components.
  • Install, configure, and update ChromeOS and related software applications.
  • Conduct functional testing and quality assurance checks following repairs.
  • Maintain accurate repair records, inventory usage, and service documentation.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and company repair procedures.
  • Communicate repair status and technical information to supervisors, customers, or clients as needed.
  • Manage and organize repair tools, workstations, and spare parts inventory.
  • Identify recurring device issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and data privacy requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.

Working Conditions
