CHS ASSISTANT TENNIS COACH

Job Summary

The Cascade High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic team as the Assistant Tennis Coach. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tennis and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes. This position will support the head coach in developing players' skills, promoting teamwork, and ensuring a safe and productive practice and competition atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
• Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes on tennis techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Help organize and manage team events, including matches, tournaments, and team meetings.
• Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to players.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and athletic association policies and regulations.
• Assist in the maintenance and care of tennis equipment and facilities.
• Attend all scheduled practices, competitions, and coaching meetings.
• Support the head coach in recruiting and retaining student-athletes for the tennis program.

Requirements

• Previous experience in coaching tennis or playing at a competitive level is preferred.
• Strong understanding of tennis rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, other coaching staff, and school personnel.
• Commitment to the development and well-being of student-athletes both on and off the court.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the tennis season.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification before the season starts.
• Must pass a background check and comply with all school district requirements for coaching staff.
