PURPOSE:
The Church Partnerships & Acquisition Manager (U.S.) expands World Renew's base of church support by cultivating new partnerships, re-engaging lapsed congregations, and stewarding relationships with higher-capacity churches (typically $8,000+ annually) outside of the Christian Reformed Church (CRC).
This role plays a strategic growth function within the CORE team by building relationships across diverse denominations and church networks, strengthening alignment with World Renew's mission, and opening new pathways for engagement. Through proactive outreach, relational stewardship, and innovative partnership strategies, this position contributes directly to increased church participation, revenue growth, and long-term ministry impact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Church Acquisition & Expansion
- Identify, cultivate, and onboard new church partners across diverse denominations and networks (e.g., ARC, Abide, ECO Presbyterian, Sending Network, Better Together).
- Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to expand World Renew's church donor base beyond the CRC.
- Re-engage lapsed or under-engaged churches, inviting them into renewed partnership with World Renew.
- Collaborate with Church & Community Engagement (CaCE) team members to develop tailored proposals and engagement opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
- Represent World Renew at conferences, denominational gatherings, and networking events to build awareness and relationships.
Strategic Partnerships & Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of higher-capacity church partners ($8,000+ annually), developing and strengthening long-term relationships with pastors and church leadership.
- Create and implement engagement and fundraising strategies for assigned churches, including personalized outreach (visits, calls, proposals, and reporting).
- Collaborate with senior leaders and CaCE team members to engage denominational and network-level leadership.
- Coordinate with Canadian Church Relations colleagues to ensure alignment, consistency, and shared learning across regions.
- Leverage existing networks (delegates, Disaster Response Services connections, board members, and volunteers) to expand outreach and deepen relationships.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of church engagement and activity in Salesforce.
Campaigns, Innovation & Emerging Leader Engagement
- Contribute to the design and implementation of national and regional church engagement campaigns.
- Explore and develop seminary engagement strategies to build relationships with emerging pastors and ministry leaders.
- Identify and pilot innovative approaches for introducing World Renew to new churches, denominations, and networks.
- Provide insights and feedback to strengthen church engagement strategies and messaging.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may mentor interns, volunteers, or coordinate support for specific initiatives or events.

- Highly self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and relationships.
- Experience with CRM or donor management systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, and collaboration tools.
- Willingness to travel regularly and work occasional evenings and weekends.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Ministry, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, or a related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, church engagement, business development, or a comparable relationship-based role.
- Experience cultivating partnerships beyond a single denomination or network strongly preferred.
- Experience managing a donor or church portfolio preferred.
- Understanding of church structures, stewardship practices, and faith-based engagement models.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Fluency in English with strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate theological and humanitarian concepts clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Primarily computer-based work with extended periods of sitting.
- Up to seven (7) days of travel per month within the U.S.
- Occasional evening and weekend commitments for church visits, presentations, and events.
- Occasional travel to Canada for team meetings and potential international travel to connect churches with field programs.
- Requires the ability to work independently while collaborating with a geographically dispersed team.
