PGS Worldwide is seeking a Circuit Card Inspector in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Circuit Card Inspector will visually inspect solder and conformal coating on circuit card assemblies using IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements. This role requires prior solder and coating inspection experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and communicate quality defects accurately.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of solder and conformal coating inspection experience.
- Experience visually inspecting solder connections on surface mount and plated through-hole components.
- IPC-A-610 experience.
- IPC-J-STD-001 experience.
- Ability to navigate IPC standards and determine accept/reject criteria.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, revision control documents, reference documents, and work instructions.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales.
- Visual inspection experience.
- Documentation skills.
- Proficient with personal computers.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-player mindset.
- Ability to communicate quality defects effectively and professionally with operations teams.
- Must be able to pass required medical exam.
Preferred Skills
- Experience inspecting circuit card assemblies in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with conformal coating inspection.
- Experience working from process instructions, inspection instructions, and checklists.
What You’ll Do
- Visually inspect solder and conformal coating on circuit card assemblies.
- Inspect assemblies to IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, manufacturing, and industry standards.
- Review drawings, work instructions, inspection instructions, and checklists.
- Use measuring devices to support inspection requirements.
- Identify quality defects and communicate findings clearly.
- Document inspection results accurately.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 2nd shift.
- Monday–Thursday.
- 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.
- Overtime on weekends as needed.
